Abstract:   (215 Views)
Rural businesses are key drivers of local economic development and require targeted support to thrive. In this context, development institutions have introduced microcredit programs aimed at strengthening rural enterprises. This study investigates the impact of microcredit on rural businesses in Khomam County. The research is applied in nature, with a descriptive-analytical methodology, conducted through a quantitative, survey-based approach. Key financial and non-financial performance indicators were identified from the literature and used to develop a comprehensive questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale. The statistical population includes rural businesses that have received microcredit, with a sample of 191 business owners selected using Cochran’s formula—all having received loans at least one year prior to the study. Factor analysis confirmed the reliability of the questionnaire with factor loadings above 0.5 for most items. Subsequently, multiple linear regression was conducted using SPSS. The results show that microcredit has a significant positive impact on the financial performance of rural businesses. However, its effect on non-financial performance dimensions was not statistically significant. These findings suggest the need for complementary support mechanisms to enhance broader business outcomes beyond financial metrics.
